New post, new TikToker that I am honored to interview and feature on my blog.
I honestly think that today’s guest for the “we are gamers series” is a role model for many aspiring content creators.
Humble, friendly, positive, a passionate gamer, an avid collector… You name it! Her gaming collection is huge (and I mean huge) and her pickups are simply amazing!
Last but not least, she is my daughter’s favorite TikToker!
Let’s get to know Danielle better…
1. Welcome Danielle and many thanks for accepting my invitation. For a starter, please introduce yourself to RGL’s readers.
Hey, my name is Danielle or known as Daniee, I don’t mind what people call me! I am a retro & modern gamer, collector and hoarder at this point. I have played games all my life and last year started making tiktoks to share my collection with people.
I also started it because i always wanted a place I could share my love of gaming as I don’t have the opportunity to really do that in the real world. I have nobody who can get excited with me when there’s a new game out or I get a really good deal on a boxed retro game… Until now, I have made so many amazing friends through TikTok and now Twitter & Instagram. It’s amazing!
2. What was the first video game you ever played?
My friend had a SNES when I was younger and we didn’t have one at this point and I used to go round hers and play super Mario world a lot. But I think the game I remember playing the most – as I’m not sure what the first was – was Pokemon yellow, I would never put it down.
I would be under the covers with my light boy until early hours of the morning and pretend to be asleep every time my mum would come in the room.
3. What about the first gaming system you ever owned?
I used to play a lot on my PC, but the first games console I owned myself that was mine, was actually a PS1, I have so many great memories playing with my brother on the PS1 as we grew up really close and both loving video games. The rest were my dad’s and I got them all later on in life throughout the years, so I would own them myself.
4. Were you an arcade gamer? If you were, what about your favorite titles back in the 2000s?
I loved arcade games. I was born and live on the south coat of England, so we have a huge seafront with a tonne of arcades down the beach. I used to go a lot with my family and enjoy the arcade machines a lot.
I think the first ones I remember from back then were TMNT, that was amazing I would love to go back in time and discover it for the first time again. I also absolutely loved street fighter arcade, and the classic fps games!
5. I am going to name a few video game genres: please tell me your favorite retro title for each of them:
a) Adventure
b) Platformers
c) Puzzle Games
d) RPGs
e) Racers
f) Soccer/Football
g) Sports Games
h) Any other games whose genre I did not mention?
a) Myst
b) Castlevania SOTN
c) Bust a Move 2 (I played that so much haha)
d) Any Fallout or Dark Souls game, they’re so great
e Mario Kart of course or Crash Team Racing
f) World Cup 98 PS1!
g) I loved Wii Sports when it came out, but before that Track & Field had my heart
h) first person shooters- DOOM!
6. While growing up, what gaming system did you have the most fun with? Are you still a regular gamer?

The original PlayStation and its trusted Dual Shocks
Probably the PlayStation 1, it blew my mind and had such a good range of games. Before that, I mainly played the PC, it was actually my first console and the more retro consoles I got later on in my teens.
7. What is your relationship with the online gaming world? Do you play online with your friends/family members/random gamers?
Only recently since joining social media have I started playing online again. I never had any friends to play with before, so was just playing with strangers, but it’s so nice to have now made friends with similar interests to myself to game & chat at the same time!
8. What are your finest memories related to video games?
My absolute best memory from when I was a child was playing DOOM 95 on the PC with my grandad; it’s probably what got me into gaming and made me such a huge DOOM fan to this day. He would do the navigating and I would do the shorting and we shared the keyboard.
I shall treasure those times forever.
9. What prompted you to start a TikTok page?

Danielle’s TikTok account: daniellesgamess
I actually started my first TikTok page at the end of August 2021 (before I got banned), and I didn’t expect anything to come from it, I just wanted to share my collection and make what I thought at the time would be silly videos not many people would watch. I most definitely didn’t expect to make friends, so that was a lovely bonus for me.
Since then I got banned in Feb 2022, it was really disheartening because I lost all my followers and videos, but since then I reconnected with all my friends on TikTok and have been making new videos. It was never about numbers or followers for me, I simply just wanted to share my love for gaming & collecting, which is what I’m continuing to do.
10. What is the goal of Danielle’s Games?
I wouldn’t really say there is any goal, as I don’t really consider myself to be a content creator or streamer. I simply just like sharing any gaming knowledge I might have, cool pickups I grab and at this point make friends. I never thought it would be about making friends but the gaming community welcomed me with open arms and now I see many of them like family.
11. Last but not least: any future plans or secret wishes?
Future plans… Future plans… Sounds cliche but, I don’t really have any. I take day by day and just enjoy each day I have! However a secret, not so secret wish would be to be a paid full time gamer, but a girl can dream!
